Who We Are
Jeffrey Cole Architects P.C., is an architecture, planning and interior design firm located in NYC. Established in 1985, the firm is licensed and practices in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. J.C.A. has proven experience in a wide range of project types and provides services to developers, property managers and private owners.
From its inception J.C.A. has specialized in the conversion and gut rehab of New York City’s older loft buildings. These conversions have incorporated complex bulk transfers, floor area increases and variances with uses ranging from multiple-family to corporate headquarters with over 350,000 sq. ft. of rehab/conversions completed in NYC.
Over the past two decades JCA has increased its portfolio of new residential developments in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Recent projects include THE ALBERTA, an 86-unit luxury rental on Riverside Drive, a 48-unit luxury rental on Frederick Douglas Boulevard and a boutique, full-floor unit condominium development in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. Our latest out of the ground project, an 11-unit full-floor luxury rental development on St. Nicholas Avenue in Manhattan dramatically cantilevers over the adjacent properties. In all 250,000 sq. ft. of new construction has been built or is under construction.
JCA has also built a portfolio of imaginative lofts, townhouses and apartments for our residential clients. Our residential work has been featured in Elle Decor, Vogue Living and New York Magazine.
In addition to design excellence we provide the following areas of expertise:
- Zoning: In-house expertise with bulk transfers; light, air and cantilever easements; variances and special permits provide an advantage at the earliest stages of project planning.
- Condominium filings. We have extensive experience with the AG filing process, tax lot assignments filing procedures.
- Building Code and A.D.A.: Our staff code experts assure that our projects meet with timely approvals from all regulating agencies.
- Landmarks: Our extensive experience with The Landmarks Preservation Commission has resulted in precedent setting additions and bulk transfers in landmark districts.
